To be a "connected" instructor:

“Any fact becomes important when it's connected to another” – Umberto Eco.

A connected instructor is in tune with the evolving world. He/she doesn't work alone but works with everyone in the designated field. In today's world, technology plays a significant role in connecting people around the world. Instructors can use many resources like social media platforms to find connections with people in the same field. "A connected educator collaborates online and uses various tools to build their own PLN." Collaboration is vital to generate more ideas and tools for your learning toolbox so you can have variations of teaching strategies or tools to use in your class. When you have connections, you have helping hands to rely on, so it would not be too hard on you as you teach.

THE USE OF PLN (Personal Learning Network)

You can find resources for the classroom and create lesson plans with the help of a strong PLN. The PLN serves as a convenient and accessible resource for teachers and students to be effective learners. Instructors should use PLN because it creates fantastic environments where educators can collaborate, share materials, and engage in meaningful conversations about current educational trends and practices. There are many benefits that instructors may get from using PLN. Some of these are:

Creating connections: a PLN includes new members to acquire additional information and resources for when they're needed.

Maintenance of Connections: a PLN helps you stay in touch with the right individuals.

PLNs establish connections with specific individuals in order to facilitate the acquisition of new knowledge. Per Nardi et al. (2000) and (2002).

I absolutely love the photos that you've added to your blog! I like that you put an emphasis on "engaging and meaningful conversations" I think often Internet chat rooms convey a lot of useless banter and I think it is important to be authentic and share your true opinions and experiences. Because that is the only way that you will truly be able to have your own personal learning network, from learning about others experiences.

Hey! I like that you mentioned when instructors are connected, it means they are not alone! This is really important for any career, but teachers especially, as it can be easy to feel lonely and a bit isolated. Being connected really helps to remedy that! I also like how you mentioned that a PLN can be a great resource for finding content and lesson plans to teach. That is definitely a huge bonus! Thanks for sharing!
